It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Karen Mary Reid, 60, of Amherst on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at her residence.
Born March 13, 1954 in Amherst, Karen was a daughter of the late Earl C. and Kathleen (Burke) Gouchie.
In her younger years, Karen enjoyed playing softball, hockey, baseball and soccer. She loved walking, painting as well as spending time baking and socializing with her friends and family.

She will be sadly missed by her husband, Tommie; children, Jennifer Reid and Jason (Monelle) both of Edmonton, AB; siblings, Earlene (Leon) Brown, Amherst, Carolyn Dupuis, Hamilton, ON, Pat (Faye), Grand Prairie, AB, and Danny (Jenny), Edmonton, AB; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family.
Besides his parents, Karen was predeceased by her brothers, Jackie and Darrell.
Cremation has taken place.
Funeral service will take place on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. from Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Amherst with Father Vernon Driscoll officiating. Reception will follow in the parish hall.
Interment will take place at a later date in the St. Charles-Nativity Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Karen’s memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
