Piché; Dorothy Mary Piché, age 84, of Ponteix, Saskatchewan, passed away at Foyer St. Joseph Nursing Home on Saturday March 29, 2014. Prayers & viewing were held at the Notre Dame d'Auvernge Roman Catholic Church at 7:30 pm, Wednesday, April 2nd, 2014. Funeral mass was held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, April 3rd 2014, from the Notre Dame d'Auvergne Roman Catholic Church in Ponteix with Father Guy Amédée Ainemon officiating. The organist was Claudette Begin. The soloist was Jaryn Madland. Eulogist was Denis (Butch) Piché. Ushers were; Jennifer Hales & Miranda Ardell. Pallbearers Tony Piché, Ty Piché, Denis Piché, Breck Piché, Kirk Piché & Pat Piché. The Ushers were Jennifer Hales & Miranda Ardell. The Cross bearer was Jaryn Madland. Readers were Juanita Gull, Cindy Madland, Karen Piché, Kelsey, & Jaycie Pocha. Offering were presented by Shannon Hosker and Bobbi Piché. The Interment service was held at Ponteix Parish Cemetery. Dorothy is survived by her children; Denis (Butch), Gary, Larry, Pat, Marcel & Tony Piché, 17 grandchildren 18 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by; Parents Douglas and Nellie Henderson brother Donald Henderson; husband John Piché; children Kennth Piché; grandchildren; Nathan Piché and great grandchild Kayden Ardell. Dorothy was born on Dec. 17, 1928 in Wallard, Sk. Dorothy grew up in the dirty 30's on a farm 1 mile South of Wallard. She began her schooling at Tweed School and she did her grade 12 at Poirier school in Ponteix. Later she went to Normal School in Moose Jaw. She taught for one year in a school South of Kincaid. In 1947 she moved with John Piché to Port Alberni where they were married. In 1952 they moved back to Ponteix, where they have lived ever since. She had 7 wonderful boys that any mother would be proud to have. She worked at the Ponteix Union Hospital. Dorothy was a member of the Bowling and Curling Club, these were some of the things that she loved doing when she was younger, and in her later years she loved to go fishing with dad at Gouveneur. Dorothy & John enjoyed spending time at their cabin at Gouveneur Dam. She loved, knitting and she could make beautiful moccasins, & slippers. Dorothy will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by the family and friends. In her memory, memorial donation may be made to the Foyer St. Joseph Nursing Home in Ponteix.
