Mom was born on September 30, 1915 in Keeler Sask. and passed away on January 6, 2014 with her daughter and son by her side in Edmonton, Alberta. She was predeceased by her husband Mervin (1984), her son Maurice (2011) and her grandson Kent (1969), her parents John and Mae Wilson, and brothers Cliff, Len, and Colin. Mom married dad in 1939 and they lived in the Lake Valley district for 10 years and then moved to Keeler where they farmed until they retired to Moose Jaw in 1973. Mom was an active member of the community, a member of the UCW, involved in community activities and a long-time member of the Keeler Grandma`s Club. Mom moved to Edmonton a brief 8 months before her passing and these months were very precious, as we were blessed with her being closer to us and able to spend time with her and our families. Mom is survived by her children, Adrienne (Don) Elton, Carl (Fay), and daughter-in law Fern; grandchildren Nicole Swanson, Stacey (Trent) McIntyre, Denise (Reg) Stapley, Darin Elton, Teressa (Sonny) Colahan, Ellise and Alex Swanson; 8 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren; and long-time friend Thelma Lougheed A Memorial Service will be held at W.J. Jones & Son Chapel on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Reverend David Moore will officiate. Interment will take place at Sunset Cemetery. For those so wishing memorial donations can be made to Charity of one’s choice. In living memory of Geneva, a memorial planting will be made by W.J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.
