McARTHUR, JAMES FREDERICK - The passing of James “Jim” Frederick McArthur of Fredericton, NB, husband of Marion Annette Emma (Myshrall) McArthur occurred on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on April 21, 1933 in Fredericton, NB, he was the son of the late John and Grace Gertrude (Oldenburg) McArthur. Jim was a retired carpenter and furniture upholsterer. He loved to fish and hunt. In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by his children, Kathy McArthur (Ron) of Fredericton, NB, Louisa Petznick (Ross) of Cranberry Portage, MB, Malcolm McArthur (Helen) of Tay Creek, NB and Amy Doucet (Peter) of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren, Leslie, Jamie, Vanessa, Katherine, Elizabeth, Craig and Emma; great granddaughter, Harmony; brother, Melbourne McArthur (Carol); sisters, Shirley Titus and Irene Boone all of Fredericton, NB; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Jim was predeceased by his sisters, Grace “Jane”, Bessie and Doris; brothers, Maurice, Percy, John, Irvine, Chilson, Robert, and Bradford.
Although there will be no visitation by request of the family, a Memorial Service will be held at the Nashwaaksis United Church on Sunday, April 13, 2014 at 2 pm with Rev. J. D. Kennedy officiating. Interment will take place at the Stirling United Church Cemetery, Tay Creek, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Nashwaaksis United Church “Youth Group” or to the charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
