Christopher Nickerson

NICKERSON, CHRISTOPHER - 1974 - 2014 - Chris Nickerson of Albert County passed away on Monday, April 7, 2014. Born in Moncton, he was the son of Margaret Layden (Jack) and C. Gary Nickerson (Ann). He will be dearly missed by his beloved daughters, Julianna and Rebecca (Neil) and granddaughter Aubree-Rose; sister Jill Walker (Christopher) and cherished nieces Sage and Eve; brother John Layden (Heather) and children Aiden and Maddie; sister Emilee Layden-Poirier (Matt) and daughter Rhéa; and brother Jason Nickerson (Rachael); aunts Gail and Donna Nickerson; and cousins Scott (Sarah) and Jodi (John) and their children. Everywhere Chris went, he attracted people to him. Although he was a quiet man, his feelings and love for his family ran deep. He was especially proud of the arrival of his granddaughter and had looked forward to his new relationship with her. Chris was an avid outdoorsman who loved walking his Albert County property pondering the mysteries of the world, and considering his next project. His constant companion in these adventures was his German shepherd, Keelee. The two of them gave each other immense comfort and joy. He was also a skilled trout fisherman and fished the stream that flowed along the edge of his property. His frequent fishing companion was his father, who tried in vain but could not keep up with his son’s prowess. When anyone, like his daughters or other close family members, walked with Chris beside a stream or along a forest trail they always got an outdoor education. Chris was also a bird hunter and a very skilled bird dog trainer who trained many prized dogs to the highest levels of achievement. The forests and streams of Albert County are going to miss you, Chris – you and your always inquiring, beautiful mind. “Tears are often the telescope by which men see far into heaven.” – Henry Ward Beecher
