DEVEAU, Estelle Marie – 100, Nakile Home for Special Care, Argyle, died Sunday, April 13, 2014 at Nakile. Born February 26, 1914 in Sluice Point, she was a daughter of the late Edmund and Lucy (d’Eon) Saulnier. Estelle was a homemaker and she enjoyed quilting. She was a member of both the Cursillo and Charismatic movements and she was a member of the Ste. Anne-du-Ruisseau New Horizons group. She is survived by daughters, Esther (Gordon) Muise, Wilmington, MA and Millie Surette, Overton, as well as by a son, Jerry (Lorraine) Deveau, Yarmouth and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters, Victoire Doucet, Halifax, and Anne Rose Sisco, Pugwash. Aside from her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Henry J. Deveau and a daughter, Marion Amirault, as well as by a sister, Elizabeth Richard and a brother, Vincent Saulnier. Visitation took place from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, with prayers at 8 p.m., both at H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth. The funeral mass was held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 16 at Saint Anne’s Catholic Church, Ste. Anne-du-Ruisseau, Father Albeni d’Entremont officiated. Interment followed in the parish cemetery. It was requested that there be family flowers only.
