SLOAT, LESTER BARR - Lester Barr Sloat of Fredericton, Born May 15, 1924, died peacefully at home on April 18, 2014, three weeks prior to his 90th birthday. Lester, the eldest of nine, was predeceased by parents Lloyd and Edna; nephew, Todd Sandwith; sister, Joanne, and, sadly, just recently by brother, Hazen. Lester is lovingly remembered by his wife of 63 years Shirley Barbara (Shaw); children, Cynthia, Ken, Jennifer, and Elizabeth; grandchildren, Aron, Colin, Lindsay, and Andrew, and great-grandchildren, Oskar, Max, Elaina, Sophia, and Tyson (TJ); sisters, Mavis and Sharon; brothers, Osborne, Ashley, Glen, and Harry; daughter-in-law, Jayne Glenn, and son-in-law, Frederick McElman. His family is deeply, deeply appreciative of the kind and gentle care provided by Jason, Ty, and Trevor of KeayCare Home Support Services, Dr. Karol, and Extramural nurses.
Visitation at McAdam's Funeral Home Tuesday, April 22nd 3 to 6 p.m. Online condolences may be made at www.mcadamsfh.com. At his request, there will be no funeral service with a family service to be held at interment at a later date. No flowers by request.
