We, the family of Gordon KR MacDonald, would like to express our sincere thanks to our family and friends for the support and kindness during our time of great loss. To those who attended Gordon’s visitation and funeral and offered condolences, wonderful stories and memories as well as sympathy cards, flowers, donations and food, we sincerely thank you. Our gratitude and appreciation goes to Rev. Louis Ihasz, Rev. Alison Etter and Scott MacAulay for their comforting and uplifting words. Words can’t express the loving leadership in handling Gordon’s final celebration, delivered by Kollin Weatherbee and his father, John, Sydney Memorial Chapel. The Inverary Inn’s Conference Center enabled our family to greet the large number of Gordon’s colleagues, family and friends in a comforting setting. The Masonic Brothers contributed immeasurably to Gordon’s funeral and visitation. Thank you. We are so appreciative of the years of care by Dr. Chow and Dr. Genge, Baddeck Hospital. Also, the staff at Cape Breton Regional Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit and the Palliative Care unit – doctors, nurses, managers and social workers were so caring and professional, making our final journey with Gordon as compassionate as possible. To our Middle River community – a heartfelt thank you for the music played, the words spoken, choir singing and the reception – thank you. All these kindnesses and gestures shared with us during this time of bereavement are in our hearts and minds forever.
