Mercedes Ann Tobin (nee Connors)

Passed peacefully away after a short illness at her daughters home on Shea Heights and is now enfolded in the mantle of God's Love, Mercedes Ann Tobin (nee Connors), age 91 years (Formerly of St. Kyrans, Placentia Bay). Predeceased by her husband, retired Firefighter John (Jackie) Tobin; sons Lindsay and Kenneth and her only grandson Baby Liam; parents Thomas and Catherine Connors; parents - in - law Michael and Charlotte Tobin; brothers Al and Agnes Connors, Tom and Nellie Connors, Lar and Jean Connors and Veronica and Roy Greene; brother - in - law Jack Rogers and special aunt Maggie Walsh and cousins Marcella and George Walsh and Martin Walsh. Leaving to mourn daughter Elaine (Kevin Pynn); sister Marie Rogers and family, Lawn; brother Jim and Celie Connors and family; daughter - in - law Nancy Tobin; special nieces Mercedes Connors, Donna Hynes; godchild Christian Barnable. A large number of nieces, nephews and special family friends Tom, Robert, Fred and Hannah, Bill and Eileen, Jim and Joan, Jim and Helen, Miranda and family, Jay, Jason and Hayley, Madonna, Paulette, Bride and all her friends on Shea Heights. Special thanks to the staff of Shea Heights Medical Clinic, especially dear friend Nurse Kelly Ralph, RN and Dr. Stephen Darcey and team for all your care and compassion to Mom. Thanks to Msgr. Jim Doody, Father Wayne Dohey and Father Leo English for all your visits to Mom over the years. TLC Nursing and Home Care and staff for all your support and kindness. You will always be considered family to me. At Mom's request cremation has taken place. Visitation from Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road on Wednesday from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at 11 a.m. from St. Patrick's Church, Patrick Street. Inurnment to follow at St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery, Fermeuse, NL. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in Mom's memory may be made to the St. Patrick's Parish Building Fund.
