KARCH, CATHERINE "KAY" - Catherine "Kay" Mary Karch of Moncton and formerly of Toronto, Ontario passed away at The Moncton Hospital on April 21, 2014 at the age of 88. Born in Batchka, Yugoslavia, on February 19, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth Ripp. Catherine was the last surviving member of her immediate family; she is survived by her beloved God-daughter Anita (Lance) Ritchie and their son Kyle. She is also survived by her cousin Anna Mecher and her family and niece Leslie Althoff of California and her family. Aside from her parents, Catherine is predeceased by her husband Joseph and her lifelong friend Eva Rimar. After moving from Toronto in 2007, Kay enjoyed living in Moncton and socializing with her many new friends at People’s Park and Serenacare. The family would like to thank Susan Dixson and the staff of Serenacare for their loving care of Kay.
Resting at Fair Haven Funeral Home with visitation on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 from 4 to 7 pm. Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery, Thornhill, ON. Donations in Catherine’s memory may be made to Friends of The Moncton Hospital or a charity of the donor’s choice.
