SAULNIER, SYLVIE - Sylvie Saulnier, 86, wife of the late Olando Saulnier, of Cap-Pelé, passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2014 at the Dr. G.-L. Dumont University Hospital Centre following a lengthy illness. Born July 13, 1927 in Cap-Pelé, she was the daughter of the late Honoré and Alina (Arsenault) Landry. She is survived by five children: Roger (Denise), Michel (Marina), and Aline Gaudet (Gilles) all of Cap-Pelé, Rose Vautour (late Louis) of Dieppe, and Roland (Diane) of Cormier-Village; eleven grandchildren: Monette, Mathieu , Marcia, Adèle, Nicole, Jules, Justin, Christien, Alexandre, David, and Gilles ’Jr.’; seven great-grandchildren: Adrie-Anne, Gabrielle, Annika, Ava, Brandon, and Jasmine; two sisters: Rina Lirette of Grand-Barachois and Edith LeBlanc (Alphée) of Dieppe; a brother, Alcide Landry (Cécile) of Cap-Pelé; two brothers-in-law: Camille (Adrienne) and Gérard (Frella); four sisters-in-law Yvonne, Hélène, Jeannine, and Thérèse; many nieces, and nephews. Besides her husband, she is also predeceased by five sisters: Stella, Léa, Rebecca, Yvonne, and Léontine; her brothers: Alonzo, and Gélas.
The family will receive condolences Monday, April 28 at the Frenette Funeral Centre, 2642 Acadie Road, Cap-Pelé (577-3297). Visiting hours Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm, and Tuesday from 9:30 am until departure for Ste-Thérèse d’Avila Roman Catholic Church, 2648 Acadie Road, Cap-Pelé from where the funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. The Saulnier family wishes to thank the staff at the Palliative Care Unit of the Dumont Hospital for the care their mother received.
