Willis Langille

Langille, Willis Eugene - March 4th, 1942-April 25th 2014, passed away at home in Seafoam as he wished. Willis was the youngest of the late Chester and Edna (Patriquin) Langille’s family. Willis started his work career by joining the armed forces, serving in the Black Watch, in Canada and continental Europe, with NATO from 1962-1965. In 1962 he took part in the Canadian Tattoo at the World’s fair in Seattle, Washington, USA. After the services he worked various places in Ontario, Georgia USA, Queen Charlottes, BC, before coming back to settle in N. S. where he was a truck driver and then a carpenter. He was past president at the River John Legion for two terms and a member of over 35 years with the Odd Fellows, Helping Hand Lodge, River John. Besides his wife of 47years, Jean (Gollan), he is survived by his daughter, Cindy (Stewart), Seafoam; son Dwayne (Connie), Tatamagouche; and the pride of his life, the grandchildren, Darcy, Chelsey, Dylan L, Cody (Gillian), Cera and Dylan V., brother Phil (Millie), River John; sisters, Alice (Walter), Woodstock, Ont.; Iola (Chester), River John; foster-sister, Bessie (Daryl), Pugwash NS., and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brother Douglas and sister- in law, Helen Langille; brother-in-law, Walter Jewel, nephew, Glenn Jewel, and a special person in his life was Abbie Gollan for her quiet understanding. Willis so calmly accepted his condition with no complaints and very appreciative of anything anyone did for him. He kept his witty humour until the end. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Tatamagouche, River John Fire Department, or a charity of choice. Visitation will be at St. George’s Presbyterian Church, River John, on Wednesday, April 30 from 5 to 8 pm and funeral on Thursday at 2pm at St George’s Presbyterian Church, River John, Rev. Gregory Dickson officiating. Committal at the Mountain Road Cemetery, River John. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Coulter’s Funeral Home, Tatamagouche (657-3288).
