EAGLES, ERNIE - Mr. Ernie Eagles of Sussex passed away on May 2, 2014 at the age of 85. He was the son of the late Edgar and Ella Eagles. He is survived by his wife Gerry, his sons: Rod (Tracey) of Quispamsis, Mike (Anne Marie) of Fredericton, Andrew (Marilyn) of Israel and Vancouver, BC; seven grandchildren: Matthew, Christopher, Ryan, Erin, Adam, Jared and Emma; three step-grandchildren; Renee (Dillon), Mark (Anne-Marie) and Zachary: and three step-great-grandchildren; Avery, Dane and Justin; his sister, Ruth Steves of Charlottetown; his brother: Gordon Eagles (Hazel) of Salisbury Rd., his sister-in-law, Beulah Eagles of Kelowna, as well as by several nieces and nephews. Ernie is predeceased by: three sisters, Bertha (in infancy), Frances and Audrey Loftus; four brothers: Lawrence, Gesner, Nelson and Basil. Ernest worked for the Department of Agriculture for 39 years before retiring in 1991.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176) where visitation will be held on Monday from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8pm. A service Celebrating Ernie’s life will be held from Sussex Baptist Church on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at 11:00 am followed by a private family interment at Kirk Hill Cemetery.
