Phyllis Marie Frame

Frame, Phyllis Marie – 57, Truro and formerly of Gays River, passed away May 4, 2014, in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Truro, she was a daughter of James McLean and the late Vera (Hayden) McLean.

Phyllis was married for 38 years, and while her children were young, she was a stay-at-home mom. In later years, she was employed with Chignecto Central School Board from where she retired in 2013. This employment gave Phyllis the opportunity to be with the children, something she thoroughly enjoyed. Always one to give of herself, she could be called upon to cook and bake for church suppers. In her spare time she enjoyed quilting. A modest woman, she never considered her donations of time and talent to be an effort, nor her many acts of selfless kindness that she did for others.

She will always be missed by her husband, John; daughter, Stacey (Terry) Britton; son, Danny (Lois); siblings, Harold (Colleen), Carol Rogers, Russell, Walter, Randy (Susan), Roy (Heidi), Anita (Ken) Goodie, Doug (Tracey); brother-in-law, Terry Rogers; numerous nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be Wednesday from 7-9 p.m., and funeral service will be Thursday at 2 p.m., both in Gays River United Church, Lori Crocker DM officiating. Burial to follow in Gays River Cemetery. Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society, Gays River United Church, Colchester East Hants Health Centre – Palliative Care, or a charity of choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit.

Special thanks to palliative care workers, VON, the staff of the cancer unit in the Dixon Centre, the chemotherapy nurses in Truro, and Randy and Susan for opening their doors on the many trips to Halifax.
