Hazel "Marg" Dunlop

DUNLOP, HAZEL MARGUERITE “MARG” - We are very sad to announce the passing of Marg Dunlop of Maugerville, NB, which occurred on Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at York Care Centre. Born on July 1, 1933 in New Jerusalem, NB, she was the daughter of the late Eldon and Florence (Johnson) Beckett. Mom will be fondly remembered for many things: her love of gardening, her famous pies and fresh brown bread which she generously shared with her neighbours, her love of music and singing, and the many years she served as organist at the Maugerville Baptist Church. Mom worked most of her adult life for the Royal Bank in Saint John and Fredericton, and had many fond memories of co-workers and her many close friends. For a time during the 1970s she and Dad ran the Fairway Motel in Sussex. Marg is pre-deceased by Wayne, her husband of 43 years, and by her oldest brother Waldo Beckett of Oak Point, NB. She is survived by her son, Noel Dunlop (Rhonda) and daughter, Maureen Maillet (Paul), and granddaughters, Patricia and Gayle Maillet. She is also survived by her other siblings, all of whom she loved dearly, brother, Eldon “Junior” Beckett of Browns Flat, NB and sisters, Irma Bevens of Stanford, Connecticut, Marion Aulbrook of Windsor, ON, Gwen MacNaught of Perth, ON, Elizabeth Messer of Saint John, NB and Lois Boldon of Fredericton, NB.
Visitation will take place at the York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Sunday, May 11, 2014, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The Funeral Service will take place at the Maugerville United Baptist Church on Monday, May 12, 2014, at 2 pm with Rev. Malcolm Beckett officiating. Interment will take place in Maugerville Baptist Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish to make a memorial donation, remembrances may be made to the Maugerville United Baptist Church or to an organization of the donor’s choice.
