Nelson ANTHONY

SCOTSBURN – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Nelson at age 67, of Scotsburn, on May 6, 2014.
Born April 26, 1947 in Milton, Nova Scotia, he was a son of the late Jordan and Emily Anthony.
He was the devoted husband of Mary Alexa (MacKenzie), and loving father of Michelle (Brian Reid).
He is survived by sisters: Muriel (Raymond Whynot), Deborah Anthony and Shirley Laybolt; brother, Ivan; sisters-in-law, Mary Anthony, Beverly (James Garvin), Janet (Gary Fraser), and families.
Nelson was predeceased by brother, Dennis; and sisters-in-law, Elaine (Gary Murrell) and Yvonne Anthony.
He was a Michelin employee for 35 years before retiring. He enjoyed playing the guitar and loved nature, hunting, fishing, and was an avid bowler. Nelson was an electrician and a handyman, a volunteer fireman, and was always there to help his community.
A special thank you to the doctors and nurses at Aberdeen Hospital Emergency and QEII 6.4 Intensive Care Unit for their care and support.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 10 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Funeral service to be held Sunday, May 11 at 2 p.m. from Bethel Presbyterian Church, Scotsburn, with Jacquie Ross officiating.
Donations in his memory may be made to the Scotsburn Fire Department, the Bethel Cemetery Fund, or the Ethel MacKenzie A.M.S.
