Passed peacefully away at the Long Term Care Facility in Corner Brook, NL on Tuesday, May 13th, 2014 in the ­presence of his family, Lloyd Traverse of Heart's Delight at the age of 79. Predeceased by his mother and father, Clara Jane & Leamon Traverse; his ­previous wife, Joan Traverse (Crocker); his brother, Kenneth; and his parents-in-law; Joseph & Ina Crocker. Lloyd leaves to mourn his wife, Pearl (nee Loder) of Deer Lake, NL; daughter, Elaine (Cliff) of Heart's Delight; son, Brian (Manon) of Sept-Îles, QC; granddaughters: Tina Bridger (David) of Sherwood Park, AB, Janie Clements of Sept-Îles, QC; grandsons: Dave (Hope) Heart's Delight, NL, Maxim Clements of Sept-Îles, QC, great-grandchildren: Landen Bridger of Sherwood Park, AB, Michel Cox, Tamara, Abigale & Sophia Traverse of Heart's Delight, stepchildren: Wayne Earle (Diane) of Calgary, AB, Sharon Dodds (Sandy) of Mississauga, ON, Byron Earle (Guylene) of Rimouski, QC, Michelle Ross (Brian) of Toronto, ON and Chris Loder of Montreal, QC; his sister, Bernice Stowe (Carl) of Pasadena, NL; his brothers: Terrence (Linda) of St. Anthony, NL and Stewart (Inga) of Edmonton, AB; sisters-in-law: Hazel Reid (Bernard) of Heart's Delight, NL, Eulajh Traverse of Florida, USA, Bessie Young of Deer Lake, NL and Dorothy Noel (Allan) of Summerford, NL; brothers-in-law: James Crocker (Barbara) of Heart's Delight, NL, Ralph Young, Deer Lake, NL and Roland Young (Mary) of Corner Brook, NL; his special aunt, Stella Reid of St. John's, NL; as well as a number of other ­relatives and many friends. The family will be receiving family and friends at the Bethel United Church in Heart's Delight, NL on Thursday, May 15th, 2014 from the hours of 7-9 p.m. and continuing on Friday, May 16th, 2014 from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m., also from where the funeral service will take place on Saturday, May 17th, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Cole officiating. Burial to follow at the church cemetery in Heart's Delight, NL. As requested by the family, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Lloyd's memory to the Bethel United Church in Heart's Delight.
