The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Sunday, December 22, 2013, of James Horatio Schurman, of Summerside, aged 89 years. Born in Summerside, he was the son of the late Horatio and Mary (Ahern) Schurman. James was a long time employee of CN Marine, and held the Secretary position of the Prince County Horseman’s Association for many years. Survived by his sister Edna Gay; brother-in-law Claude Waugh; and by numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brothers Bruce and Ralph Schurman; and by his sisters Georgina Wright and Emma Waugh. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, where a memorial service will be held Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will later take place in Peoples Cemetery, Summerside.
