PURINGTON, P. ELAINE - November 10, 1933 - May 24, 2014 - P. Elaine Purington (nee Nason) passed away at Carleton Manor in Woodstock, NB on May 24, 2014. Elaine was born in Amesbury, Mass on November 10, 1933 and was brought up in Irish Settlement, NB. After High School, she attended Teachers College, graduating in 1952. She taught school for many years in schools around the Fredericton area and later at Woodstock High School. She was predeceased by her parents Arnold R. and Doris (Ivey) Nason, her husband Franklin, two brothers Richard Nason and Roderick Nason, grandson Carl Meagher. Elaine is survived by two daughters Rebecca Hughes (Don) of Calgary, Alberta and Cairina Carr (Ozzie) of Geary, N, three sisters, Joy McAffee (Jack), Susan Chase (Maitland), Connie Nason (Ron), one brother, Sam Nason, grandchildren, Ozzie Carr (Emma) and Pamela Cyr (Joe), four great-grandchildren, also survived by sister-in-law Kathleen Nason.
Visitation on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 from 2:00pm until time of service at 3:00p.m. Funeral service to be held from The Culberson Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. L. Cousins officiating. Interment to follow at the McKenzie Corner United Baptist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the DunRoamin Animal Shelter or the Carleton Co. Animal Shelter or donors choice.
