Passed peacefully away surrounded by his family at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital on Christmas Day morning. Frank was 87 years of age. Predeceased by four brothers and two sisters. Leaving to mourn his wife Ruth (nee O’Neill), his daughter Florence Kennedy (Glen Power), and grandson Geoffrey Pyett. Frank will be missed by his large extended family and countless friends. Frank turned his passion for photography into a career, and made all of St. John’s laugh with his April Fools Day photos during his many years as a news photographer at The Daily News. Moving from print to television, he spent 22 years as a cameraman at CBC, where he was known for his professionalism, integrity and keen sense of humour. At 80 years of age, Frank purchased his first computer, which he used to write two books about his years working and growing up in St. John’s. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation Saturday, December 27th, from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday December 28th from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial to take place Monday, December 29th, at 9:30 a.m. from The Basilica of St. John the Baptist. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to the Newfoundland and Labrador Lung Association.
