It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, Emily Organ, 90, on Saturday, May 31, 2014, at the Northside Community Guest Home.
Emily was born in Mose Ambrose, Newfoundland, the daughter of the late Robert and Florence (Evans) Petite.
She was a member of St. Joseph Church, North Sydney. Emily and her husband John operated the Pierce Street Dairy for many years. In recent years she was a devoted caregiver to her husband John, she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, card games with friends and knitting.
Emily is survived by her husband of 63 years John James Organ, her daughter Carolyn (Bob) Jobe, North Sydney, her sons James Robert 'Frank (Bev), Truro, Kevin, Toronto, Brian, Mississauga, her sisters Frances (Hank) Huggins, Florida, Florence (Leonard) Knott, North Sydney, her nine grandchildren Joseph, Carrie-Leigh, Michael, John, Adam, Carly, Christopher, Shawn and Bryden, three great-grandchildren, twin boys Tristian and Kaidyn, and Rylan.
She was predeceased by brothers Robert and George Petite, sister Augusta (George) Lawrence.
Visitation for Emily will be held 7-9 p.m. Monday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St.,, North Sydney. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Patrick O’Neill officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Sydney.
