Elaine Edith  Goodwin

Elaine Edith Goodwin, 75, of Lorneville passed away on Friday, May 30, 2014 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre in Upper Nappan surrounded by her loving family following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born December 12, 1938 in Amherst, Elaine was a daughter of the late Wilbur and Ilene (Clayton) Tompkins. She was also predeceased by her brother Thomas and sister Jennie Sanders.
She will be sadly missed by her husband of 57 years, Clair; daughter Janice, Charlottetown, PEI; sons Tim (Deborah), Houston, Texas, Jamie and Kevin (Brenda) both of Lorneville; beloved grandchildren Amber, Tiffany, Josh and Jillian; eight great grandchildren; sisters twin Evelyn Wylie, Amherst, Ruth Chandler, Tidnish and Sheri Robinson, Grand Lake, NS; brother James (Lorna), Englishtown, Cape Breton; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family.
Elaine is remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt; as well she was a dear friend to many.
She cherished her time sitting on her front deck, enjoying a cup of coffee and observing the various species of birds.
Involvement in community life was extremely important to her, especially the Lorneville United Church Women.
As per Elaine’s wishes cremation has taken place.
Funeral service was celebrated on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. from Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst (667-9906) with Mrs. K. Ruth Gamble, DLM officiating. Interment took place in the Lorneville United Church Cemetery followed by reception in church hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution in Elaine’s memory may be made to the Lorneville United Church.
