Mary Slade passed away Thursday, June 5, 2014, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, surrounded by her loving family.
She was the daughter of the late Alex and Sarah (MacNeil) Kennedy.
Mary is survived by her two sons, Winston and Andrew (Danielle), three granddaughters, Madalyn, Emily and Victoria, her six brothers, Michael (Sharon), Martin (Elsie), Brian (Susan), Kevin, John (Diane), Kenneth (Vernie), one sister, Ann (Jack), sister-in-law, Fay Brake, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Winston, sister Regina Lahey and brother-in-law Herman Slade.
Visitation will be held Sunday, June 8, 2014, at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with Rev. Sheldon Chant to have prayers at 8:45 p.m. Burial to take place 11 a.m. Monday, June 9, 2014, in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
