Alice W. O'Neill of Fort St John, BC passed away on April 23rd, 2014 at the age of 86.

Alice was born in High Prairie, AB to Gladys and Joseph Halldorson on November 5, 1927. Upon completing high school Alice, she continued her education at the Misericordia Hospital in Edmonton, AB where she graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1949. She returned to High Prairie were she began her Nursing Career, married Patrick O'Neill and started a family. In 1956 they moved with their young family to FSJ were she started working at the Providence Hospital. She saw the building of a new hospital in which she retired in 1985. Many may remember Alice as a nurse on the Maternity ward. On May 5th her funeral was held at the Church of the Resurrection in Fort St John, BC, were she was a parishioner for many years.

Alice enjoyed gardening. Over the years her vegetable garden shrunk and new flower beds popped up everywhere. She was a very resourceful, creative, patient, gentle, kind, wise, modest, selfless, calm and confident person. Alice loved to spend time with her family and friends.

Alice was predeceased by Patrick O'Neill (husband), Vince O'Neill (son), Patricia Helm (daughter), Leonard, Norman and Joe Halldorson (brothers) and Inga Marquardt (sister).

Alice is survived by Oli Halldorson (brother), Hazel Richie (sister), her children Neil (Nancy) O'Neill, Clint (Janet) O'Neill, Bernie (Gail) O'Neill, Colleen (Rob) Chmelyk, Ethel O'Neill (daughter-in-law), Bruce Helm (son-in-law) her grandchildren Janet, Lee, Brett, Alicia, Nathan, Jennifer, Sarah, Robbie, Justine, Taya (Carl), Brittney, Lakeysha, Keefer, Patrick, Kate, great grandchild Hannah and many nieces and nephews with whom she shared her life.

Alice will be sadly missed by her family and friend, but will live on in our hearts forever.
