Mary Connelly

CONNELLY, MARY M. - 1924 - 2014 - Sackville, N.B. - A beautiful spirit slipped peacefully from her earthly form into eternity on June 3, 2014 at the Sackville Memorial Hospital, Sackville, N.B. Being the musician and dancer that she was, she kept time tapping her little feet right up until the end. Mary was born in Chicago but called Murray Corner, N.B. and in later years, Sackville, her home. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, musician, teacher, mentor and friend to many people all over the world. Although she was a musician at heart, she was a student of life and was particularly interested in the environment, natural health and hygiene and helping others. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her. Mary will be remembered by her daughter, Anne Junjeck, Memramcook, N.B.; her beloved granddaughter, Savanna Junjek, Vancouver, BC; her sister-in-law, Ginny Connelly, Baton Rouge, Louisiana; her dear friend and exceptional care-giver, Brenda Landry; her kindred spirit, Linda, as well as much loved cousins and friends. Besides her parents, William and Mary (Molly Peacock of Murray Corner) Connelly, she was predeceased by her only sibling, William Connelly and by an infant daughter, Miriam Elizabeth Junjek.
In accordance with Mary’s wishes, there was no visitation or funeral service. She was buried at Four Corners Cemetery on June 4, 2014, at sunset, her favorite time of the day, with a few close friends in attendance, as a piper played her home. Mary’s last wishes were for friends and family to get together and remember her over some good food. Donations in memory of Mary may be made to the Mount Allison University Music Department, The Owen’s Art Gallery in Sackville, The First United Church in Murray Corner, N.B. or to a charity of one’s choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (364-8188). www.campbellsfuneralhome.com
