FIELDS, ERIC - Eric Fields, age 89, of Murray Corner, passed away in his 90th year peacefully at the Westford Nursing Home, Port-Elgin, on Tuesday June 10, 2014. Born May 18, 1925 in Murray Corner, he was the son of the late George and Cora (Walton) Fields. A veteran of the 2nd World War he served his country overseas with the Royal Canadian Navy. He worked as a fisherman, farmer, bricklayer and retired from the NB Power Commission in 1983. He will be sadly missed by his four children: Tim (Bernice), Sandra Stright, Christina Fields (Rick MacDonald), Tracy Matthews (Tony); two brothers: Lysle Field (Sadie) and Bernie Fields (Evelyn); six grandchildren: Nicolas, Sabrina, Calvin, Colby, Michael and Sophie; one sister in-law, Loretta Field; four great-grandchildren: Caleb, Isabel, Danica and Alyssa; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Roberta (2008); a son, Michael; one sister, Marjorie Trenholm; two brothers: Harry and Sydney.

There will be no visitation. The funeral service will be held at First United Church, Murray Corner on Tuesday June 17, 2014 at 11 a.m. followed by a reception and graveside service at the Fernwood Cemetery in Port Elgin. In memory of Eric, a contribution to the Legion Branch 81 in Cape Tormentine or to the Westford Nursing Home, Port-Elgin would be appreciated.
