(August 6, 1937-June 12, 2014): Passed peacefully away at James Peyton Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family on June 12, 2014 at the age of 76. Predeceased by his parents William and Bridget Donahue, his brothers Leo and Thomas. Left with loving memories his wife Mary, son Sean (Carol), daughter Cathy (Albert), brother Kevin (Clara), and sister-in-law Sheila, grandchildren Ryan, Kyle, Lucas, Aaron, Jordan, nieces, nephews and a large circle of family and friends. Gerald was born in Boyd's Cove, Notre Dame Bay in 1937, the youngest child of William and Bridget Donahue. He graduated high-school in Boyd's Cove and started his career in AERADIO. He followed his career around Atlantic Canada until he married Mary in Goose Bay, Labrador in 1966. Together they settled in Appleton where they had their first child Sean in 1967 and then their second child Cathy in 1970. Being a proud father of two he loved and guided his family. He was a wonderful infulence on this grandchildren and his pride overflowed when he spoke of either of them. He enjoyed the time spent with his family the most. Not only was he a father we were proud of, he was always there for us, he always had the right answers but most of all he was a friend, a very best friend. Your gone but never forgotten.
