It is with deep sadness and regret that we announce the passing of Philomena 'Phyllis' Crane of Leeside Drive, Coxheath on Saturday, June 14, 2014.
Phyllis was born in Port Saunders, Newfoundland. The daughter of the late John and Elsie (Lavers) Ryan.
Phyllis is a retired employee of Woolco/Walmart and was a member of the Church of Christ the King, Sydney.
She is survived by her four daughters, Barbara (Bob) Cowieson, Ontario, Sharon (Billy MacKinnon) Crane, Coxheath, Darlene (Tommy) Crane-Morris, Coxheath and Rosie Crane, Ontario; son Robert (Julia) Crane, Ontario; daughter-in-law, Fran Crane, Coxheath; four brothers, Clarence, John and Kevin, Newfoundland and Brendan, Halifax; and four grandchildren, Monica, Scott, Ryan and Riley.
Phyllis was predeceased by her husband, Walter A.; daughter, Bonnie; son, Walter P.; sister, Sophie; and four brothers, Austin, Jim, Mike, and William.
Philomena had deep faith and prayer. She enjoyed many wonderful moments with family, friends, yoga, hockey, travelling and concerts.
Visitation will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, June 18 from 3-7 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the Church of Christ the King on Thursday, June 19 at 1 p.m., with Rev. Laura McCue officiating. Interment in Hardwood Hill Cemetery.
For the many years we were blessed with Mom, we would want yet decades more, but we know her resting place is now with the Lord. When you look at your mother, you are looking at the purest love you will ever know.
