The death occurred very peacefully at the Prince County Hospital on Sunday, Dec. 28, 2008, of Joseph H. Caissie of St. Gilbert at the age of 79 years. He is the adoptive son of the late Joseph Octave and Suzanne (nee Gallant) Caissie. Besides his beloved wife, Denise (nee Cormier), he is survived by sons and daughters, Raymond (Veronica), Saint John, N.B., Alfred at home, Lucie (Gerard) Gallant, of St. Chrysostome, David (friend Sharon), of Alberta, Eva (friend Paul) Arsenault, of Wellington, Robert, of Miramichi, N.B., Simon (Debbie), of Brampton, Ont., Noella (Drew) Worth of Summerside, Leona (Wayne) Gallant of Urbainville and Diane (Wilfred) Doucette of Miscouche. Also by 18 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, daughters-in-law, Pat Caissie, of Moncton, Diane Caissie, of St. Louis and son-in-law, Raymond Arsenault, of Abram-Village, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Rosaline Gaudet, of Summerset Manor, Izella Cormier, of Ontario, Urbain (Helen) Cormier, of St. Gilbert, Melvin Cormier, of St. Gilbert, Alfred (Melva) Cormier, of Rustico, Gaston Parent, of Quebec, and a special friend, Pascal 2 (his cat). Besides his parents and parents-in-law, Joseph and Lena (nee Gallant) Cormier, he was predeceased by in-laws Lucie and Martin Poirier, Yvonne and Clifford Decoffe, Clara and Eloi Gallant, Dolor Gaudet, Arthur Cormier and Leona Parent. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Doucette family educational fund would be appreciated. Resting at the Evangeline Funeral Home until Wednesday, then to St. Phillippe and St. Jacques Church in egmont Bay for funeral mass at 11 a.m.. Visitors, friends and relatives will be received on Tuesday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Interment in the church cemetery.
