Mary Montague (Fruin)

Passed on: June 21st, 2014

Mary Frances Montague (Fruin), August 5, 1924 – June 21, 2014, passed peacefully in the early morning light at Providence Place at the age of 89. She was predeceased by her husband Robert, parents Percy and Emma Fruin, and brothers William, Walter and Arthur. Mary will be lovingly remembered by daughter Bev (Terry) Sweeney, son Brian (Gwen) Montague, grandsons Patrick, Brett, Chris and Michael, brother Ken and numerous nieces and nephews. In the 1940’s Mary taught school in Ituna, Sask., before working at the Royal Bank in Esterhazy, Sk. In the 1970’s Mary began a very successful career in real estate. She was the owner/broker of Century 21 Modern Real Estate for many years and was president of the Moose Jaw real estate board in 1986. Her warmth and sense of humour made her many friends throughout her career. Mary’s passion was her family and she was selfless, generous and devoted in her care for them. An avid gardener with a particularly green thumb, by sharing her skills and knowledge, she nurtured a love of gardening in all her loved ones. Special thanks to Tracey Dietrich and her “Caring Companions”, Tosh and Faye Kober and the staff at “Providence Place” for all the kind and loving care provided to Mary. A private family graveside service will be scheduled at a later date.
