Lucie Poirier
POIRIER, LUCIE - Lucie Poirier, 82, formerly of Collishaw Street, Moncton, passed away on Monday, June 23, 2014 at Résidence Petit O’Bons Soins in Shédiac. Born on September 16, 1931 in Grande-Digue, she was the daughter of the late Philippe and Yvonne (Poirier) Gallant. Prior to her retirement, Lucie was a teacher at Beauséjour and St-Henri schools, a member of Ladies Auxiliary Knights of Columbus Council 6468, and Parkton Golden Age Club. She volunteered her time at the Dr. George-L. Dumont UHC for many years. She is survived by two sons: Marcel (Manon) of St-Lazare, Qué., and André (Michelle) of Toronto, Ont.; one grandson, Dylan; three sisters: Alphonsine Babineau and Eveline Maillet (Roger), both of Grande Digue and Marguerite Leménager (Alphée) of Lynn, Mass.; three brothers: Jacques (Claire) of Lynn, Mass., Louis (Claudette) of Beresford and Emile (Marie) of Montréal, Qué.; several nieces, and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Henri (2004); an infant daughter, Lisette, and two brothers: Raymond and Raphaël.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral Center, 396, Main Street, Shediac on Thursday, June 26, 2014 from 2 pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm only. The funeral mass will be celebrated at La Visitation Roman Catholic, Grande-Digue on Friday, June 27, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Grande-Digue parish cemetery. In memory of Lucie, a contribution to the CHU Dumont Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
