Passed in: Westmount, Canada
Passed on: June 21st, 2014

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Brian Joseph MacNeil on Saturday June 21, 2014 at the Northside General Hospital, with his family by his side.
Born in Sydney on January 8, 1959, he was the son of Barbara (MacKinnon) and the Late Jack MacNeil.
Brian was employed with Sydco fuels as an oil delivery driver, where he worked diligently late into many nights making sure everyone was warm. Brian had a passion for cars. He had the shiniest car in town. He watched NASCAR races every weekend to see where 88 would finish, and would wash and wax any vehicle that dared to show up dirty. But Brian was most content when he was spending time with his three girls.
Brian is survived by his wife, Donna (Snell); and daughters, Brianna, Alicia (Liam) and Kelsey, all at home; mother Barbara; sisters, Jacqueline (Billy Young) and Rosaire; brothers Blaire (Shauna) and David (Catherine) as well as extended family of aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews and the Arsenault Family of Alder Point.
Besides his father, he was predeceased by a sister in infancy.
Visitation for Brian will be held on Friday June 27, 2014 from 7-9 p.m. at Francis Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anne Church, Alder Point, with Fr. Peter McLeod officiating. Burial will be held at a later date.
Donations in memory may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart & Stroke Foundation or a charity of choice.
Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to the care and direction of Francis Funeral Home, Sydney Mines.
