MORSE, SONIA "SONNY" - Mrs. Sonia "Sonny" S. Morse, formerly of Grand Harbour, Grand Manan Island, passed away peacefully at the Grand Manan Nursing Home on Monday, June 23, 2014. She was born the daughter of the late Nicholas and Pauline (Petrowsky) Bellows at Danvers, Massachusetts, USA. She is survived by one daughter Sara (Ben) Nest of Kennebunkport, Maine, one son Gregory (Carol) Morse of Lebanon, Maine, one sister Lydia (Zoel) Sylvester of Danvers, Massachusetts, four grandchildren Laura (Nest) Wallace, Lydia (Nest) Welch, Adam Morse and Daniel Morse, five great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and her special loving friends Dianne and Allan Ashfield. Sonny was predeceased by her husband Rev. Roger Morse in 2004, one daughter Johanna Johnson, one granddaughter Stephanie Collins, her parents, four sisters and three brothers. The family would like to thank the many caregivers and all the of the staff at the Grand Manan Nursing Home for many years of excellent care.
The funeral service will take place at Ells Funeral Home on Monday, June 30, 2014 at 1:30PM with Rev. Dana Dean officiating. The interment will follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers Sonny's memory can be honored with donations to the Grand Manan Nursing Home Foundation or the charity of the donor’s choice.
