Gertrude Julia Mercer (nee Ham) of Moose Jaw, SK, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on June 23, 2014, at the age of 91. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband Lester of 73 years and daughter Wenda (Gord) Peakman, son Rodney Mercer, daughter Joan (Tim) Maier, daughter-in-law Cheryl and beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Gertie is survived by her sibling June (Wayne) Heppner and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. A Celebration of Gertie’s Life will be held at Parkview Funeral Chapel on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made directly to Canadian Cancer Society, MS Society, or Moose Jaw Right to Life.
