It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our father, Daniel Joseph Francis, 67 of Eskasoni on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
He was the son of the late Frank and Mary Rose (Gould) Francis.
He was a member of Holy Family parish, Eskasoni. During his early years he travelled to Maine for potato picking, where he lived for 10 years. Daniel was a jack of all trades. He was an open minded and easy going person. He loved to entertain and his home always had room for one more. There was never a dull moment when he was around, with his unique way of storytelling, humorous personality and ability to make people laugh. He loved all his children, grandchildren, family and friends and will be missed by them all.
He is survived by the mother of his children, Bernice Joyce (Dennis); daughters, Danita Francis, Krystal Francis; sons, Clinton Francis (Cassandra Poulette), Stuart Francis (Stacey Taylor), Samuel Francis (Carolyn Peck), Vincent Francis (Angel Denny), Roman Bernard; brother, Donald Francis(Germaine); grandchildren, Jaycee, Dwight, Helen, Carsten, Clinton Jr., Wyatt, Kai, Zane, Francis, Carleigh, Sam Jr., Vinson, Vayda, Vince, Zacharias, Seth, Caylee, and Ciara; godchildren, Lyndon, Bruce, Benjamin, Frank and Dale.
Daniel was predeceased by his sister, Shirley Julian and a sister in infancy and brothers, George Francis and Edgar Francis.
Visitation for the late Mr. Francis will take place at 4724 Shore Rd., Eskasoni after 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 1, 2014. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Church with Rev. Martin MacDougall officiating. Interment in the parish cemetery.
