PAUL, MILDRED - It is with great sadness that the family of Mildred Anna Paul announces her passing which occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on June 29, 2014. Mildred was born in Woodstock, NB, September 1, 1942 to the late Noel and Mary Agnes Paul. Mildred grew up in a large family that included her four brothers, William (Hoppy), Herbert (deceased), David and Curtis Allan; and three sisters, Christina (deceased), Loretta and Lorraine. Mildred was a member of the St. Mary's Seniors Group and thoroughly enjoyed her annual trips to Ste.-Anne-de-Beaupré, Quebec. She was an active member of the Sunset Church and the St. Mary's First Nations Christian Outreach. Mildred was an avid bingo player for many years and enjoyed her painting classes. She was also an animal lover and enjoyed the company of her beloved pets. Mildred had a special place in her heart for her good friend, Venus Cote, who she spent so much time with and who become invaluable as her caregiver as Mildred became ill. Mildred had many friends and a special mention goes to Marie Ward and Patty Sappier for all their care and companionship throughout the past year. Besides her parents, Mildred was predeceased by her husband, Melvin Paul; one brother; one sister; and nephews, Robert Paul, Anthony Paul and Eric Pelkey. Mildred is survived by her children, Barbara (Steve) Birch, Laurie (Rob) Bottschen, Christopher (Miranda) Paul and Richard (Melody) Paul. Mildred was considered an honourary mother to Katrina and Jordan Paul and Pam, Johnny, Debbie, Robert, Charles, Anthony and Michael Paul. Mildred also leaves behind 16 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren who she loved and adored.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Dr., Fredericton, NB on Thursday, July 3, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A celebration of Mildred's life will be held on Friday, July 4, 2014 at 11:00 am from Sunset Church. Burial be take place at St. Anthony's RC Cemetery, with reception to follow at the St. Mary's Entertainment Center.
