Passed on: June 26, 2014. Following a full and active life June passed peacefully away at Kenny's Pond Retirement Home, St. John's, at the age of 86. June was born on Dudgrove Farm, near Lechlade-on-Thames, Gloucestershire, England on June 28th 1927. She came to Newfoundland in 1954 and nursed in Burgeo and Bonavista where she met her future husband Roy. Following their marriage in Bath, England, June and Roy returned to Newfoundland and had many happy years between Bonavista, St. John's and Grand Bank. Predeceased by her husband Roy, sister-in-law June Marsh and brothers-in-law Jim Mahon and Allan Batey. Survived by her son Hazen (Maureen), daughter Janet (Merrill), grandchildren Nicholas, Willow and Antonia, brother-in-law Paul (Patricia), sisters-in-law Ruth Crewe and Lois Batey, and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation on Thursday, July 3rd 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 pm at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, St John's.
