Ross, Jeffrey Paul, aged 41, Port Moody, British Columbia died suddenly, tragically and far too soon of a heart attack at his home on July 1, 2014. He died in his beautiful backyard, one of his favourite places on earth. Jeff was born January 27, 1973 in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife Tracy, as well as his parents, Shirley Steele -Bob McClinton, Botwood, Newfoundland and Paul Ross - Barbara, Kanata, Ontario, his sister Jennifer Nicholson -John, Halifax, Nova Scotia and his grandmother Lola Ross, Brookfield, Nova Scotia. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Jean Pineau and sister-in-law Alana Ernie of Charlottetown, PEI. He was the proud uncle of seven nieces – Rebecca, Rachel, Erica and Julia Nicholson, Shelby and Faith Arsenault and Jessica Murray. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Rex and Stella Steele, paternal grandfather Walter Ross and father-in-law Elmer Pineau.
Jeff grew up in Charlottetown, PEI, lived in Ottawa for a short time but spent most of his adult life in the Vancouver area. He always lived his life to the fullest on his terms. He was very happy and had exactly the life he wanted in all respects.
Jeff loved nature and all animals, especially cats. He is survived by his kitten Gus. He and Tracy spent many weekends camping and four-wheeling in the BC wilderness over the years with their many friends. Jeff loved his toys. His garage was his domain. He recently purchased a Harley which he never got the chance to ride. He always had the biggest, flashiest, most expensive truck he could buy.
He was a very successful entrepreneur and owner of Mountain Fire Protection Ltd. He started his career in fire protection with FirePro shortly after moving to Vancouver and started Mountain Fire with a partner in 2006. In 2012 Jeff became the sole owner of the company. It continues to flourish under his leadership. Jeff was much loved by his employees and customers who will all miss him terribly.
A celebration of Jeff’s life will take place on Monday, July 7th at 2:00 pm at Burquitlam Funeral Home, 625 North Road, Coquitlam, BC. Reception at Jeff and Tracy’s home at 606 Waterloo Crescent, Port Moody after the service. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
