BLADON, GEORGE - 1915-2014 - Miramichi - George Bladon, husband of Eleanor D. Bladon, of the Mount St. Joseph Nursing Home and formerly of Miramichi, N.B. and Lions Head, Ont., passed away at his residence on Saturday, June 28, 2014, at the age of 99. Born in England, on March 2, 1915, he was the son of the late Harold R. and Elizabetha (Frankel) Bladon. He was a retired employee of Union Carbide Ltd., of Walkerton, Ont. and attended St. Pauls Anglican Church, Miramichi as well as Christ Church, in Lions Head, Ont. He was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. He is survived by his wife, the former Eleanor Trevors; one daughter, Fiona Bladon, of Ottawa, Ont.; two sons, Ian Bladon, of British Columbia and Michael Bladon (Elaine), of Guelph, Ont.; two step daughters, Sandra Black (Tom), of Oak Point and Susan Mather (Raymond), of Miramichi; one step son, Scott Mather (Paula Marie), of Riverview; Two grandchildren, John & Alexis; four step grandchildren, Andrew & Adam, Shawn & Anne; two step great grandchildren, Page & Ryan.
By his request his body has been donated to medical science. A public memorial service will be held from St. Pauls Anglican Church, Miramichi, on Monday, July 7, 2014, at 2 pm, conducted by Rev. Gordon Thompson.
