Mary "Maude" Paul

PAUL, MARY MADELINE "MAUDE" (nee SACOBIE) - It is with broken hearts that the family of Mary Madeline “Maude” Paul (nee Sacobie) announces her passing on July 5, 2014 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, after a long and brave battle with complications from diabetes. Mary loved shopping and going to bingo faithfully every Thursday at St. Vincent de Paul Church. Mary had a lot of passion for life, but her biggest passion was her family, whom she loved dearly. She leaves behind her brother, Maurice Sacobie of St. Mary’s First Nation; daughters, Kathleen Gates (Wayne) of Oromocto, NB and Dannielle Paul (Denis) of Oromocto, NB; granddaughters, Terri Gates (John) of Oromocto, NB, Shannon Perley (Kisuhs) of Tobique, NB, and Alison Paul (Callum) of Oromocto, NB; great grandchildren, Zachery and Gracey Gates, Chase, Riley, Callie and Zoe Perley, and the love of her life, her “Angel Baby” Liam Paul. She also leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews, several godchildren, and countless special friends. Mary was predeceased by her parents Bennett and Monica Sacobie (nee Brooks); husband, Leo Paul, and her dear cousin Ernestine Paul (nee Atwin). The family wishes to whole heartedly thank Dr. M. Martin, Dr. R. Aslam, Dr. A. Ismail, and the nurses of ICU. You were Mary’s angels and your kindness and care will always be remembered. Also to, Dr. J. Digby, Dr. D. Gowan, and the nurses of 4SE. The care and compassion you gave Mary during her last days will never be forgotten.
Visitations will take place at 27 Hiawatha Court, Oromocto First Nations on Monday, July 7 and Tuesday, July 8, 2014, beginning at 3:00pm on July 7. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at 11:00am, with Fr. Peter Melanson and Fr. Ken Weir officiating. Interment will take place in the adjoining cemetery with a reception to follow in the church hall. In Mary’s memory, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
