POIRIER, GALE JOSEPHINE MARIE - April 29th, 1961 - July 7th, 2014 - It is with deep regret and sorrow that we announce the passing of Gale Josephine Marie Poirier (nee Burns), 53 of Oromocto. After a courageous battle, Gale died peacefully in the arms of her husband and children on July 7th, 2014 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton, NB. Gale is survived by her loving husband and soulmate of 31 years, Wayne; her children, Jerry, Daniel and Holly (Dylan); her grandchildren, Cameron and Cole Poirier all of Oromocto, NB; her parents, Mary and Henry Burns of Oromocto, NB; her brother, Michael (Donna) of Ottawa, ON; her sisters, Wendy of Oromocto NB; Deborah (Stephan) of Moncton, NB and Cynthia (Wilfred) of Oromocto NB. Gale will also be missed by her parents-in-law, Raymond and Josie Poirier; sisters-in-law, Wendy (Rick), Christine (Ed) and Karen (Lloyd); brother-in-law, Brian (Nancy); several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins; two godchilden, Megan (Lance) and Steve (Ashley); her precious cats, Coco and Sophie; special friend, Colleen Millican and a large circle of extended family and friends. Special thanks to Dr. Bob Prosser and the doctors, nurses and staff of 4NE at the DECRH who did everything possible to make her comfortable in her final days.
Visitation will be held at the Oromocto Funeral Home on Thursday, July 10th, 2014 from 5 to 7 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Friday, July 11th, 2014 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Fr. Peter Melanson as celebrant.
