We, the family of Charles Bourgeois, regret to announce his passing on Wednesday, July 16, 2014, in the palliative care unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Charlie was the son of the late Edgar and Mary (Andrews) Bourgeois, Sydney.
He was an ironworker, by trade and a past member of the Ironworkers Union, Local 752, Halifax.
Charlie is survived by his wife, Francie (Fraser); their three children, Mark (Glenda), Lethbridge, Alta., Michael, Sydney and Kathy, Lethbridge, Alta.; and seven grandchildren, Caitlyn, Ethan, Noah, Cole, Connor, Mia and Addyson. He is also survived by his sister, Theresa (Terry) Gordon, Bedford and brothers, Paul (Carol), Albert, Francis (Betty Ann) and Blaise (Betty), all of Sydney.
In keeping with Charlie’s wishes, there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Saturday 11 a.m., with Rev. Paul Murphy officiating. Interment will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the palliative care unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
