Passed away after a brief and brave battle with cancer on July 22, 2014, Anthony (Tony Sr.) Walsh, age 69, retired employee of Fisheries and Oceans Canada after 28 years. Predeceased by his son Andrew in 1982; parents Thomas and Mary (nee Fahey) Walsh; parents-in-law Ralph and Gladys (nee Hefferton) Winsor; sister-in-law Ann (Winsor-Taylor) Mercer. Left with fond and beautiful memories his wife of 42 years Effie (nee Winsor); son Tony Jr. and his wife Melissa; three precious and adored granddaughters whom he adored and loved: Maddie (9), Abbie (9) and Avis (7); sister Carol Ann Kennedy (Peter); brothers: Gordon (Patricia) and Thomas (Mercedes); sister-in-law Doris Kostal, Ocean Springs, MS; brother-in-law Ralph Winsor (Freda); nine very close nieces and nephews, many friends and former co-workers. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place on Thursday and Friday from 2p.m. to 9 p.m. at Barrett's Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Avenue, Mount Pearl. Funeral Mass to take place at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 26, 2014 from Mary Queen of the World Parish. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
