Passed away peacefully into rest at his private home in Green Island Brook at the age of 71years, Mr. Whyman Hughes. Whyman leaves behind with a lifetime of loving memories his son Brian (Wanda); daughters Brenda (Keith) Russell and Beulah (Wayne) Keefe; his grandchildren Tara, Alicia, Keith, Jake and Josh; brothers Bill, Roland, Flick (Frances), Nat (Patsy), and Winston (Mona); sisters Amy (Stanley) Coates, Elva Caddy, Beulah (David) Wells, and Sheila (Frank) Whalen; brothers-in-law Lawerence (Jean) Noseworthy, Eric (Mae) Noseworthy, Norman (Helen) Noseworthy, Gorvin (Sarah), Noseworthy, Garland (Priscella) Noseworthy, Selby (Lorraine) Noseworthy, Wade Noseworthy, Roland Macey, and Peter Webb; sisters-in-law Phoebe Hughes, Vera Hughes, Sadie Way, Velma Noseworthy, Winnie Major, and Emily (Gideon) Hughes and a large circle of other family and friends. Whyman was predeceased by his wife Rosie, parents John and Bridget, parents-in-law Selby and Mary Noseworthy, brothers Baxter and Claude, sisters Stella and Maria, brothers-in-law Osborne Noseworthy, Orval Caddy, Robert Major, and Henry Way, sisters-in-law Marg Hughes, Currie Macey, and Cassie Webb. Visitation was held at the St. Andrew’s Anglican Church in Lower Cove, after which the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 19 with Rev. Marlene Harvey and lay person Maxine Hughes officiating. Burial followed the service in the Green Island Brook Anglican Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.
