YUNGWIRTH, Sandra

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Sandra Nettie Yungwirth (nee Hrynuik) on Saturday, July 26, 2014, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Sandy was a beloved wife, mom, baba, sister, aunt, cousin, and a friend to all who knew her. She was predeceased by her parents George and Nettie (Anastasia) Hrynuik; brothers John, George, Nick, Ted, and Roman; sisters-in-law Louise and Pauline, and her brother-in-law Ivan Brown. Sandy will be lovingly remembered by her husband Richard of 43 years; son Jeremy Yungwirth, and daughter Pamela (Graham) Noble; grandsons Kieran and Connor; and special canine companion Gabbie; sisters Mary Brown and Olga (Ernie) Johnston; brothers Joseph and Edward (Lorraine) Hrynuik; sister-in-law Adeline Hrynuik; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Sandy was born on February 11, 1944, in Humboldt, Saskatchewan. She grew up on the family farm at Red Deer Hill and in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. After marrying Richard, she moved to Regina where they raised their family. She spent the majority of her career working for the Saskatchewan Legislative Assembly, retiring in 2011. That same fall, she became a baba and her grandsons became the light of her life. Sandy found great joy in sewing, reading, gardening, and creating her jewellery. Family and friends were the centre of Sandy’s life. Her warmth, generosity, and love of life garnered her many, many friends along life’s journey. Sandy always had an ear to listen and a shoulder to lean on. She will be dearly missed. A special thank you to the staff at Wascana Rehabilitation Centre for their support, care, and compassion. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at Regina Funeral Home, Hwy #1 East, Regina, SK on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Donations in memory of Sandy may be made to Wascana Rehabilitation Centre, 2180 - 23 Avenue, Regina, SK S4S 0A5 or the Canadian Cancer Society – Saskatchewan Division, 1910 McIntyre Street, Regina, SK S4P 2R3.
