It is with love and joyful reflection that we the family of Zita Christopher Lundrigan announce Mom’s peaceful passing into the arms of the Lord, after a brief battle with Cancer, on Monday, August 4, 2014 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital’s Palliative Care Unit. Predeceased by our Dad, Alphonsus Christopher, 1993, and her second husband, Joseph Lundrigan, 2005; as well as parents, John and Agatha Buckle, and siblings, Margaret, Brendan, Gertrude, Edward and Frank. Mom will be lovingly remembered by her ten children, Judy (Mel) Cull, Sarnia, ON; Eric (Jeanette) Christopher, Corner Brook, NL; Paula (Jim) Waque, Sarnia, ON; Marg (Tom) Companion, Sarnia, ON; Mary (Gary) Stanford, Sarnia, ON; Donna (Joe) Cormier, Amherstburg, ON; Mitzie (Chris) Bone, Sarnia, ON; Josephine (Rob) Bousfield, London, ON; Zita (Doug) Lobsinger, Pickering, ON; Michelle Trupp (Domenic Troiani), Amherstburg, ON. Mom was a cherished Grandmother to 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Mom will also be fondly missed by her extended Lundrigan family. Barbara (John) Brothers, Corner Brook, NL; Joe (Anne) Lundrigan, Halifax, NS; Deb Lundrigan (Vince), Windsor, ON; Audrey Miller (Leigh), Gander, NL; Peggy Rumbolt (Gus), Corner Brook, NL; Nora Lundrigan, Corner Brook, NL; Randy Lundrigan, Whitby, ON; Mary Marshall (Bruce) Corner Brook, NL; Kevin Lundrigan (Christine), Corner Brook, NL. Also missed by her brother Walter (Shirley) Buckle, Sarnia, ON and sister Silvia Scott, South Carolina, as well as her cherished niece, Catherine Belyea (Monty), Corner Brook, NL. Mom will also be remembered as one of the founding members of The Order of Royal Purple which was established in June, 1970. She held the honor of being the first Honored Royal Lady and held the position for a number of years. Mom was born December 23, 1926 in Corner Brook, NL. She married Dad on July 31, 1945. They lived for a brief time in Christopher’s Cove before settling at 21 Valley Road. She spent most of the years of her life raising ten children. With loving hands she changed many diapers, wiped many runny noses and dried many tears. She spent countless hours in the kitchen making homemade bread and a good pot of soup which were enjoyed not only by her children, but also, countless friends and neighbors. Her generosity and caring touch to others was her legacy. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, St. Mark’s Avenue on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm with prayers at 8 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place at the Most Holy Redeemer Cathedral, Mount Bernard Avenue, Corner Brook at 10:30 am on Thursday, August 7, 2014. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. Flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Western Memorial Regional Hospital Foundation or the Palliative Care Unit at the WMRH. The family guest book may be signed or a memorial donation may be made through our website www.fillatre.ca.
