HORKOFF - Fred was born to Harry and Nellie Horkoff on November 5, 1935 in Verigin, Sk. He married Oraise Christine Nykiforuk on September 24, 1960. Fred leaves his wife of 53 years, Oraise, his daughters Lana (Richard Halladay) and Larissa (Jeff Coward). Grandchildren Michael, Tyrone and Jenna Halladay and Clay and Cashtyn Coward. He was predeceased by his father in 1963, his mother in 1999, and his brother John in 1979. Fred and Oraise lived in Saskatchewan and British Columbia and finally settled in Swift Current, Saskatchewan where he retired in 1996 from SGI. Fred loved working with his hands and tinkering outside. He also loved traveling around to watch his grandchildren at their various sporting events. The memorial service was held Thursday August 7, 2014 at Parkside Memorial Funeral Home. In Fred’s memory, memorial donations may be made to the Swift Current SPCA.
