At the Kings County Memorial Hospital in Montague on Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010, of George MacLean Smith of Montague, age 71 years.
Beloved husband of Bernice (nee Bignell) Smith. Brother of Raymona (Smith) Lenaghan and William Angus Smith. Uncle of Alayne (Lenaghan) MacInnis and Raymond Harold Lenaghan. Grand uncle of Alexis and Blair. Beloved son of the late Raymond Stanfield-Smith and Effie Margaret MacLean.
George served with the RCAF for seven years. He also sailed with Northumberland Ferries and Algoma Central Marine and retired as chief engineer in 1997.
Resting at Ferguson's Montague Funeral Home from where the service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday at 10:30 a.m. Interment in the Belfast Cemetery. Visitation: Sunday 2-4 p.m only.
If so desired, memorials to the Kings County Memorial Hospital X-ray Fund or to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
The Royal Canadian Legion Montague Branch No. 8 will hold a service of remembrance at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon at 4 p.m. All comrades are invited to attend.
