We the family of Loretta Smith regret to announce her passing on Aug. 9, 2014, at Buchanan Memorial Hospital, Neil’s Harbour, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Neil’s Harbour she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Beatrice (Lawrence) Fricker.
Loretta was a member of St. Andrew’s Anglican Church. She retired from nursing after working many years at Buchanan Memorial Hospital.
Loretta is survived by her sons, Kelvin (Millie), Stuart and Roger (Karen); her grandson Jonathan and granddaughter Amanda. She is also survived by her brothers, Ivan (Jane), Joseph and Rindress (Helen).
Besides her parents, Loretta was predeceased by her husband John and sister Ethel Budge.
There will be no visitation by request. Arrangements are under the care and direction of J.M. Jobes Funeral Home, Sydney Mines. A celebration of her life will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2014, at 2 p.m. at St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, Neil’s Harbour with Rev. Carolyn Sharpe officiating. Burial to follow in parish cemetery.
The family would like to thank all the staff of Buchanan Memorial Hospital for their Kindness and compassion shown during her short stay there.
