LAYES, CONSTANCE - Constance “Connie” Marie Layes passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness, on Sunday, August 11, 2014 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born 1970 in Antigonish, NS she was the daughter of Anne (McNeil) Brown. In addition to her mother Anne, she is survived by her son Joshua Lynch, his father Randy Lynch; brother Gary Layes, sisters Theresa Henry (Leo), Patricia Clark (Tom) and Kathy Foster (Shawn); nieces and nephews: Misty Young (Brett), Miranda Henry, Jessica Henry, Alexis Foster, DJ Clark, Gary Clark and Chelsea Horne; great niece Brooklyn and great nephew Logan; several cousins, aunts, uncles and many friends. Connie drove taxi for Diamond Taxi. She enjoyed playing bingo, going dancing; spending time with her family and friends. She especially cherished time spent with her son Joshua.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) on Wednesday, August 13 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
